Robotics Competition Team

Post

We are FTC Team 6949.  Our competitive season runs from September through March each year, but our team members continue to work throughout the Spring to prepare for the next season.

The Einstein Robotics Team was established in 2012.  We participate in the Northern California division of FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC).  FIRST is an acronym for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.  FIRST is a global program that includes over 300,000 students.  Those students gain experiences in designing and programming autonomous robots, and working and competing in teams.  We are proud to be a part of the FIRST family!  You can learn more information about the FIRST programs at www.usfirst.org.  FIRST Tech Challenge students learn to think like engineers. Teams design, build, and code robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. Robots are built from a reusable platform, powered by Android technology, and can be coded using a variety of levels of Java-based programming.

At Einstein, are proud of the 7th through 12 grade (and beyond) robotics continuum that we have fostered within our community.  We develop FIRST competitors who go on to join the FTC and FRC teams at Rosemont High School.  We gain student mentors from the high school who help us as part of their senior projects.  And, we have been fortunate enough to have mentors return to us as college students through a partnership with our local colleges as paid community educators. In addition, many Einstein Robotics Team alumni have entered STEM careers after being introduced to opportunities here and at Rosemont High School through the Robotics and ECD Programs.
